HANS & FRITZ CONTEMPORARY is a gallery founded in 2015. It is aimed at the production and promotion of current artistic ideas and emerging trends in Contemporary Art. A space created for experimentation, mediation, advancement and promotion of its artists. HANS & FRITZ CONTEMPORARY works mainly with internationally renowned artists and aims to create a platform for cultural exchange and collaborations. A dynamic space, that resolutely works to infuse new interests and knowledge to our guests and clients.
Focused on maintaining a high standard program of exhibitions, events and performances in the gallery, we are also currently working on the next international expansion phase which among other aspects include art fairs, co-ops and other alternative models. Formerly situated in the historic midtown of Barcelona, just a few meters away from The Museum of Contemporary Art in Barcelona (MACBA) and recently relocated its main gallery to London (2018) – whilst maintaining a space in Copenhagen (2017) to reinforce its links with the European and Scandinavian markets.
During 2019, the gallery has relocated definitely to London and has undergone an integral transformation by which our priorities have been to embrace new technologies in attracting more diverse audiences and continue to cement our status as a creative powerhouse in the digital age.
Our first project in this new phase is THE GROVE HOUSE ART SALONS
Experiences and exhibitions run as 21st-century art salons with select groups (by invitation only) which are curated as Immersive evening events merging fine dining, performance and art experiences, with the special attendance of artists and performers.
A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine the taste and increase the knowledge of the participants through conversation. These gatherings often consciously followed Horace’s definition of the aims of poetry, “either to please or to educate” .
